Slogan Cancellation

On 2 January 2007, a new slogan cancellation was put into use at United Nations Headquarters, New York, the Palais des Nations, Geneva, Switzerland, and the Vienna International Centre, Austria. "United for Peace" replaced the slogan "International Year of Deserts and Desertification 2006". |

A new meter slogan, in the same design as above, was also introduced on 2 January 2007. To obtain copies of the meter slogan with cancellation, send self-addressed envelopes, together with sufficient remittance to cover the cost of return postage plus US$ 0,20 for service charge for each envelope, to the address indicated above; clearly mark the outside envelope "Meter Slogan". Meter service is available only for the US$ 0,44 domestic first-class rate and the US$ 0,98 overseas airmail rate. |

In all cases, a filler of medium weight should be placed in each envelope, with the flap turned in. A poor cancellation might result if no filler is provided. The United Nations Postal Administration reserves the right to withhold the official UN cancellation from any material that is deemed inappropriate. |
